Good Result From Pedrosa And Dovizioso At Free Practice 1 Misano GP

After win at Indianapolis last weekend, Pedrosa reach the top at Misano's free practice on friday.

“It's been really a good start here in Misano compared to last year and I'm very happy about that," said Pedrosa, who finally broke his two wins in a season barrier last weekend.

"We are coming from a strong result at the last race and it's important to keep the momentum going, which we have done so far. But we need to remain very concentrated and focused because we still have some areas to improve, and I'm sure our rivals will also go quicker tomorrow.

"Our pace has been quite fast today and Andrea is close to the front as well, so this is a good sign for the team. Here the grid positions are very important again because the first corner is close to the start and it's a tight bend.

"Because of this we need to make sure we have a good pace tomorrow so that we can qualify well, and also so that we are ready for another long and tough race.

"I can say this was one of my best Friday practices, but I'm not going to relax at all," he warned.

Dovisioso was also on the 2nd position. This Italian rider feels very happy with his practice on friday.

“I'm happy with the work done during this session and I'm satisfied to be second," said Dovizioso. "Six tenths from Dani is quite a big gap but I think we have the opportunity to close this. At the end I was able to improve my lap times with the tyres I used for the whole session, so I'm confident we can move forward tomorrow.

"I think everyone was struggling for grip today and it was easy to lose the front, but we found a set-up solution that was effective to help with this so we'll continue working in that direction tomorrow.

"Tyre selection for the race will be very important, and both the harder and softer option Bridgestones look like possible choices at the moment. I think there are many riders who can be strong this weekend so we have to work hard tomorrow and do a good job in qualifying.”

Now they are looking for more good result on Free Practice 2 and for the race.

Capirossi Home Race At Misano

On this weekend Misano race, Loris Capirossi have an extra support because Misano was his homeground race. Capirossi originates from Castel San Pietro Terme, near Bologna, about 100kms from the Misano circuit. He will be looking to continue with the good run of form at the 4,226m Italian track that has seen him score two top-five finishes in the past three seasons. Capirossi is still in search of his 100th podium and would like nothing better than to secure that in front of his home crowd.

“It is always good to race at home and Misano is the closest track to where I am from. I am determined to put on a good performance there, because we have been working very hard all season and not getting the rewards that I think we deserve – so Misano will be the ideal place to start that happening and turn our season around. We still need to find the right solution to give us the best feeling from the GSV-R so will be trying to be as competitive as possible from the first day. We have to keep a strong mentality, we have seven more races to go this year and we have to keep fighting to get to the top.”

Rizla Suzuki takes to the track for the first free practice session on Friday afternoon, with the second free practice the following morning. Saturday afternoon will have an hour of qualifying to decide grid positions for Sunday's 28-lap race that is scheduled to get underway at 14.00hrs local time (12.00hrs GMT).

Good Momentum For Dani Pedrosa Facing Misano

Facing Misano this weekend, Pedrosa have a very good momentum, After win at Indianapolis last weekend, and broke his own record during his career at MotoGP race by wins 3 races at this season, Pedrosa now is looking for 4th winning at Misano.

“We are at a very competitive moment right now and three wins so far this year is more than I had in my previous MotoGP seasons,” he said. “It's a nice milestone to pass and so I'm feeling very confident for the next races. Indianapolis was great and it was very satisfying to win such a physically demanding race, however, we don't have so much time to recover before Misano this weekend. Having said that, we'll be ready.

“The team is in a good mood and we have proved that we can be competitive for many races in a row, so we want to continue this form. Misano has been a difficult circuit for Honda in the last few years but this time we will try to do the best possible job and be right at the front once again.

“It's a track with many linked slow corners where you need a very agile bike and also a smooth power delivery, whereas our engine is very strong but can also be quite aggressive which causes the bike to slide. So we'll have to do a very good job to find the right setting and get good traction - as we did in Indianapolis. It's not so much a power circuit as one which requires good driveability from the engine.”

“The gap in the championship to Lorenzo is still very big and he has been very consistent, so our goal for the rest of the season is simply to continue being competitive at every GP and give ourselves the chance to win races, starting with another one this weekend.”

Pedrosa now is thinking to not focus on 2010 MotoGP title. He only focus for the rest races.
